M is for Mercy

"David said to Gad, “I am in deep distress. Let me fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands.” (1 Chronicles 21:13 NIV)

Do you yearn for mercy?

Or crave forgiveness for something you did yesterday—or years ago?

Is the offended person long gone from your life?

Did you ask and your apology was rebuffed?

Do you think you don’t deserve forgiveness?

Stop right there!

There is something you may not know:

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!

For His mercy endures forever.” (Psalms 136:1 NIV)

If you sincerely pray to God, asking forgiveness from Him, the God who is love and mercy, how could He not forgive you? God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, has the final say on forgiveness.

If you believe in God, then ask Him to forgive you. You can ask while sitting in a church or sitting in a dark closet. He will hear you.

Humans have trouble with forgiveness, whether it’s to forgive someone else, or to seek their own forgiveness. But, not God. His mercy endures forever.

Ask Him. You’ll feel His love in your heart.
