Quirky Characters

What is quirky? www.merriam-webster.com reads: “Definition of quirky: having many quirks; unusual in especially an interesting or appealing way”. Quirky characters might be your favorites or they might annoy you more than a little. Do your favorite quirky people have characteristics that you can name instantly? My granddaughter introduced me to the works of Fanny J. Crosby. This fascinating lady, blind from infancy, wrote her first poem at age 8: Oh, what a happy soul I am, Although I cannot see, I am resolved that in this world Contented I will be. How many blessings I enjoy That other people don't To weep and sigh because I'm blind I cannot nor I won't. Our 16+ year old Lhasa Apso, Molly Marie, recently suffered a bout of canine flu. Very nasty. Even before her illness, she showed signs of incontinence. During the flu, we kept her in diapers. Up until that time, I paid little attention to dog diapers. It’s been a rude awakening. I purchased two different sizes. Both stayed on initially, but they didn’t last long. I kept having to readjust and reattach them. With no elastic around the legs and the skimpy diaper itself, the venture was frustrating to say the least.
